At Nomanzi Trade College – Pretoria, we help experienced candidates prepare for and complete the Occupational Plumbing Trade Test through focused trade test preparation, practical training and Artisan Recognition of Prior Learning (ARPL).

Occupational Plumbing Trade Test
Our Plumbing Trade Test preparation is designed for experienced candidates who want to formalise their practical skills and work towards an Occupational Trade Certificate.
Entry Requirements – Plumbing
- At least 3 years of proven plumbing work experience
- Relevant practical experience as a plumber or plumbing assistant
- Ability to read and write English
Documentation Required
- Certified copy of South African ID
- Service letter confirming relevant plumbing work experience
- Foreign nationals: certified passport copy, valid work permit, and service letter
- Additional supporting documentation where applicable
What the Plumbing Trade Test Covers
- Installing and assembling copper piping, basins, showers, and toilets
- Installing below-ground drainage systems, GMS gutters, box gutters, and vent pipe flashings
- Installing high-pressure and push-through geysers
- Marking out and cutting sheet metal for test requirements
Before You Apply
- New intakes available upon application
- Safety shoes are compulsory
- Candidates must bring basic stationery (pen, pencil, notebook, whiteboard marker)
- Training is conducted in English
